My number one priority is bringing good paying, long term jobs back home to Las Vegas. I grew up here and this community has been good to me. This is where I developed my work ethic, where I raised my family, and where I learned my values. I'm honored that you've twice elected me to represent you on the City Council and fight on your behalf.

The last few years haven't been easy, but we're turning the corner and pointed in the right direction. New businesses are opening up across the Valley – especially here in Ward 6. In just the past year, I've helped Metro Pizza, Winco Foods, Plato's Closet, Firestone Complete Auto Care, and Big Lots open their doors.  But I'm not finished.  Dunkin’ Donuts, Steinberg Diagnostic, and Olive Garden will be soon opening. And new businesses mean new jobs.

I'm committed to supporting local small businesses by cutting the red tape at City Hall. That's why I'm introducing an ordinance to streamline the permit and licensing process so entrepreneurs can focus on the most important thing – growing their businesses.

This city's best days are ahead, and I'm working to prepare Las Vegas to meet tomorrow's challenges. We need to make sure our kids are learning the skills they need to compete for good-paying jobs. Our infrastructure must be modernized to wire every corner of our city with lightning fast internet so we can compete for the best hi-tech jobs.

We must harness our natural resources, like wind and solar power. By investing in renewable energy, we will make our community more sustainable and create good jobs in the process – jobs that can't be outsourced.

The future is bright, but there's a lot more work to be done. I'm Steve Ross, and I believe that creating jobs and fighting for you, your family, and Las Vegas is the right fight. I'm asking for your help!
