Fighting for Las Vegas, one job at a time!

y dream for Las Vegas is to leave it a better place for our children and our grandchildren. And in today’s economy, that means creating opportunities for the 50,000 Las Vegans who need a job.

Today, Las Vegas is facing some serious challenges. I know something about facing challenges.

Las Vegas is where I have grown up and, as a man, have learned from my mistakes. When I was younger, I, like many of you, made more than my fair share of bad decisions. I struggled through financial difficulties and the disappointment of losing a family business. But make no mistake: I own all those decisions... alone. I’m accountable.

Las Vegas is where I have experienced the transformative joy of raising my family. A lifelong Nevadan, I have real life experiences with the struggles facing our families today. I know what uncertainty feels like. I understand your anxiety. I share your pain.

As the son of a hardworking pit boss and a real estate agent, I’ve always worked - busting tires, waiting tables, clearing scrap. Whatever it took to contribute to the family or pay my way into college. Like many families in Las Vegas, I just wanted the opportunity to work. I wanted a fighting chance and Las Vegas gave it to me.

Today, Las Vegas needs a fighting chance to create new jobs and put 50,000 Las Vegans back to work. Not next year but right now. Now is the time for the right fight and the right fighter. As a union leader it was all about creating jobs, one person at a time... 24/7/365. That’s what I do. That’s what I’ve done. That’s what I’m good at and that’s what I’ll do for you and for Las Vegas. In a city with 50,000 men and women out of work, not collecting a paycheck, losing their homes everyday and falling further and further behind, Las Vegas needs a leader and a fighter with the experience to get us working again. I am that fighter.

It’s time to get back to basics. To create brick and mortar jobs to re-build our infrastructure, to wire every corner of our city with lightening fast internet to help us compete for the high tech jobs of tomorrow, and grab our share of green jobs by maximizing our investments in our natural resources like wind and solar power.

I’m a working man with a crumpled up union card in my back pocket and I’m the one with the job creating experience this city needs at this critical moment.

If you’re concerned about the future of Las Vegas and believe that what we need at this moment is a fighter for a brighter future for all of us, then this is your time to join the fight and get involved. This is the city that needs you.

I’m Steve Ross, and I think creating jobs and fighting for you, your family, and for Las Vegas is the right fight. I’m asking for your help!
