Roads and Infrastructure

Developed an interim solution to add a third lane on US 95 from Craig to Durango north bound and southbound, within the existing right of way.

Broke ground on the Horse Interchange to provide better service to residents in the Northwest and alleviate traffic congestion at the intersection of Durango and Farm.

Worked with residents to reduce the impacts of the Jones Road improvements on their property.

Changed the way the city operates to require developers to put in infrastructure at 50% of certificate of occupancy instead of 75%.

Forced the cleanup of unfinished projects all over the valley which developers had not completed by holding occupancy permits and bonds until the sites were properly completed.

Added speed bumps at key locations outside of emergency transport areas, such as Rome Boulevard.

Established traffic Signals at Oso Blanca & Durango.

Established Buffalo and Elkhorn traffic signals.

Negotiated new Post Office site.

Established Farm and Tenaya traffic signal.

Established a one-way signal at Jones and Azure.

Required developers to meet with neighbors on projects.

Required offsite improvements for five parcels on Ann Road between Leggett and Cimarron.

Oversaw Centennial Grand Montecito intersection improvements.

Established two worm islands on Durango Drive between Elkhorn Road and the Clark County 215.

Added the El Campo Grande Storm Drain.

Added the Durango Drive to Rancho Detention Basin.

Added the Elkhorn Springs and Buffalo Storm Drain.

Oversaw Farm Road improvements.

Bike and Bus
-
Added bus service for residents in Northwest.

Worked with RTC (the Regional Transportation Commission) to develop a Park and Ride that would expand opportunities for transit and bus service.

Approved a system of bike lanes improvements to be done in 2009.
Health and Safety

Assisted with the addition to Centennial Hills Hospital.

Secured the new Fire Station #48.

Secured the temporary Fire Station #101.

Worked with Las Vegas Housing Authority to upgrade the concept of affordable housing.

Worked with Housing Authority to eliminate generational families in system.

Coordinated with Metro and the School Safety Action Committee to make schools and neighborhoods safer.

Approved the Rancho Painted Desert Sewer Rehabilitation.

Oversaw the sewer rehabilitation project on Rancho Drive from East Alexander to Lone Mountain and Lone Mountain from Rancho Drive to Painted Desert.
