Around the Web

I spend a lot of each day working with community organizations, useful government groups, homeowners associations and many of my neighbors trying to make Las Vegas a better place. I’m also blessed to be able to spend time with my wife and five children, not to mention my two grandkids!
Here are some of the organizations and websites that I find useful in my work as your neighborhood representative in City Hall and as a father.

Activities for Kids

Boy Scouts of America – Find information on the local Boy Scouts. As a volunteer for the Scouts, I know the wonderful experiences and lessons they teach. www.scouting.org/

Las Vegas Area Council, Boy Scouts – Get involved! I serve on the Executive Board and there are plenty of opportunities to help. www.lvacbsa.org/

Little League – I coached Little League for five years. I know firsthand how team sports can teach lessons of team work and fair play. Following are links to local Little Leagues for more information or to sign your child up.

Lied Discovery Children’s Museum – The museum features kid-friendly, hands-on exhibits in the arts, nature, sciences, music and history. Make sure to check out the Green Village exhibition, which opened February 21, 2009. www.ldcm.org/

The Las Vegas Springs Preserve -- Take a walk through desert trails. Enjoy the indoor interactive exhibits and gardens. I’m always impressed by this place and children will find plenty of fun and educational activities. www.springspreserve.org/

The City of Las Vegas, Ward 6 – I was elected to be your representative to City Hall Ward 6 in 2005, and am now running for re-election. Find more about Ward 6 on the official site. www.lasvegasnevada.gov/Government/Ward6.htm

Clark County Nevada -- The Official website the Clark County is full of useful information. Use it to keep up to date on laws, events and elections. www.co.clark.nv.us

MyNevada - a relatively new site with information on most government services in Nevada. www.mynevada.gov/
